Anneliese Michel (September 21, 1952 - July 1, 1976) was a German Catholic woman who was said to be possessed by demons and subsequently underwent an exorcism. Two motion pictures, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Requiem are loosely based on Anneliese’s story.

Anneliese experienced what is recognized by medical professionals as severe psychiatric disturbances from the age of 16 to her death, at age 23, as a direct or indirect result of an exorcism ritual. Both priests who performed the exorcism and Anneliese’s parents were convicted of negligent homicide. The Roman Catholic Church, which had authorized the exorcism, reversed its position and declared Anneliese Michel a case of mental illness. Many people believe she was genuinely possessed by demons, and her grave-site is a destination for pilgrims to this day.

A man and woman went to Las Vegas for their honeymoon, and checked into a suite at a hotel. When they got to their room they both detected a bad odor. The husband called down to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. He explained that the room smelled very bad and they would like another suite. The manager apologized and told the man that they were all booked because of a convention. He offered to send them to a restaurant of their choice for lunch compliments of the hotel and said he was going to send a maid up to their room to clean and to try and get rid of the odor.

After a nice lunch the couple went back to their room. When they walked in they could both still smell the same odor. Again the husband called the front desk and told the manager that the room still smelled really bad. The manager told the man that they would try and find a suite at another hotel. He called every hotel on the strip, but every hotel was sold out because of the convention. The manager told the couple that they couldn’t find them a room anywhere, but they would try and clean the room again. The couple wanted to see the sights and do a little gambling anyway, so they said they would give them two hours to clean and then they would be back.

When the couple had left, the manager and all of housekeeping went to the room to try and find what was making the room smell so bad. They searched the entire room and found nothing, so the maids changed the sheets, changed the towels, took down the curtains and put new ones up, cleaned the carpet and cleaned the suite again using the strongest cleaning products they had. The couple came back two hours later to find the room still had a bad odor. The husband was so angry at this point, he decided to find whatever this smell was himself. So he started tearing the entire suite apart himself.

As he pulled the top mattress off the box spring he found a dead body of a woman.

Ethan

We had been in love for awhile now. He had football every night after school got out. He’d drive me home from school in his white car and we’d listen to an old country station. ”I love you babe.” he’d often say with a stare into my eyes. His were grey. Always grey. His name was Ethan, my high school boyfriend. I was only 17 at the time and naive, ready for someone to rip me apart. Well, Ethan did that. Terrifyingly. It was the night of the formal dance. We walked in , having dressed our best and lingered around our friends. Coach Vereso, Ethan’s coach, walked up to us with a strange look on his face.

“Where’ve you been at practice Ethan?” he said. I looked at Ethan, confused. He’d usually drop me off after school then go to practice. Then, come home covered in sweat, his jersey caked in clay; I pondered with myself then reasoned from the field. ” Uh,” Ethan replied, then we walked off. I pulled him aside “What is he talking about?” I asked. ” Nothing. Uh, Let’s go.” “Where?” “I have to get something off my chest,” Ethan said. ” It’s time you knew.” He grabbed my hand and took me out to the car. I was just assuming it was some stupid attempt for him to get lucky. What I didn’t know was that my life was going to change forever, and not in a good way. I opened the passenger door and felt eerily uncomfortable. It’d never felt like that before, I was always so comfortable with Ethan. “What did you have to say to me? What’s going on? Are you cheating on me? You freaking douche bag!” I questioned. “Shuttup Kat.” he said, then slowly turned on the ignition and we sped out of the school’s parking lot. Not normal speed, It felt like at-least 90 or more. I looked outside, and then shuddered once more. Something was wrong, very wrong.

After about 5 minutes of utter silence and driving, I noticed Ethan’s face. There were tears running down his cheeks. “Baby! Are you okay? ” I said, confused.

” I SAID, SHUTTUP!” he yelled. I hankered down in my seat and starting breathing heavily. What is going on. Why didn’t I notice I put my cellphone in Ethan’s letterman jacket that I left at home. The one with the big, red, grape juice stain. “Shit.’ I muttered under my breath. We traveled down the highway then suddenly made a turn down a dirt road on the left, unnoticeable to anyone who didn’t know it was there. It was bumpy and dark. I started to feel scared. Scared that I was in danger, no, wait, this is probably just a prank, right? It’s just Ethan. “Ethan, it’s just Ethan” I whispered. I didn’t know any details about him to be honest, and we had been dating for 3 months. He said he had a sister and mother. His dad died in a car crash. He liked milkshakes and waffle house. That was it. “Strange,” I thought  as I looked down at the floor of the car. There were little nails on the floor, he did take carpentry 101 though… We pulled into a lot. An empty lot.

I got out, stupefied. Ethan looked at me, came up to me and embraced me. His breath smelled. Now Ethan’s breath usually smelled, but this was different. It smelt of Cat piss and rotten meat. I pushed him away, “God, what have you been eating?” He looked down, “Come on,” and walked me to the middle of the lot. He tapped his foot 3 times on the ground and  a trap door opened. Light filled the air. He ushered me down, unwillingly, and placed his hand on my lower back. “What is this.” I said as  I looked around the small 10 by 10 room, lit by candles. Suddenly, I let out a blood curdling scream.

The concrete floors below me were blood splattered. There was so much red residue that my high heels were sticking to the floor. I turned around as Ethan locked the door above me. “I haven’t been going to practice,” Ethan said, “I’ve been so… dysfunctional lately.” “What do you mean?” I asked. Ethan pulled a key out of his pocket to open another door, hidden in the walls. It was unlocked and swung open, letting out a burst of cool air. “What is..” I began to ask then mid-sentence, I gasped and  threw up. On the walls there were humans, hung from hooks by their eye sockets. There was nails in their mouths, nailing them in permanent smiles. They looked drained of blood and their fingers were fleshless. The bones still there, almost as if they had been gnawed on like a piece of baked chicken. That wasn’t the worst part though. The humans were not adults, they were small children and babies, still wearing their clothes from when I assume they were captured. “I get hungry sometimes” Ethan said. I sobbed. I laid down on the floor in my own vomit and sobbed. Then knew the danger I was in and tried to run. “Wait!” Ethan said, wearing a sad facade. “The children were being abused in their homes. ” “What?” “They call me the bye-bye man. Heard of me?” “No.” I managed to say. ” When children are being beaten and abused, I take them away in the night. I take them to playgrounds, churches, restaurants, give them a good last night, you know? Then I tell them goodnight and lock them in the freezer. They sleep forever! Never having to wake-up to that hell-hole they live in again! And then, for payment, I get to eat their….well….fingers.” ” Holy Shit.” I screamed. “Thats disturbing, gross, terrifying, LET ME OUT!” I ran to the freezer door, and tried to escape. It was locked. I was cold. Ethan approached me, I shunned him away, but he grabbed me. ” You know, you remind me a lot of my sister” he kissed my neck. I screamed over and over again, pleaded him to let me out. ” I don’t think so. You can sleep too! Your mom is mean right? I’ll help you! He looked in my eyes and pushed me against the wall. He put nails in my mouth and made me smile. Forever. ” I gotta miss practice to practice other things,” he gestured to the wall on my left. There was dogs and cats in the same position. “You’re insane.” I thought. I Couldn’t talk though. Ethan looked me in the eyes, ran his hand under my skirt, then said goodbye. I was frozen there and my fingers were eaten. I watch this happen to many girls. We aren’t dead. We’re awake.

Do you know any people who died in their sleep? Is it true that some paranormal beings are responsible for this kind of deaths? Some people said that this is true, some are lucky enough to fight and wake up, while others just die in fighting. What really happens during this kind of paranormal attack? I have interviewed some people who have experienced this and are lucky enough to wake up.

According to them, the human soul may wander around during sleep. The soul detaches to the body and goes to places and person where the soul is longing to see. The soul only detaches and roams around if the person is experiencing some kind of depression, misses a loved one, and longing for something he/she cannot achieve in real life. The subconscious tries to fulfill these longings and it happens when the person sleeps and dreams. The only attachment of the soul to body is the so called the “silver string”, if this breaks, the soul loses its way back to the body and the person dies.

When the soul is separated from the body, the demons attack. This is their chance of taking away the soul of the person because this is the time when it is very vulnerable. Only the “silver string” is the one holding it. When the demons attack, the person will have a bad dream about anything and will try to wake up, but will find it difficult. Some people even see themselves on the bed sleeping.

The unexplained part is the when the person feels his own body stiffen, tries to move and shout for help, but nothing seems to happen. They can see the room (some will even see the other people in the room, or even the demon who is trying to abduct them) where they are sleeping and know that they are awake but can’t seem to control their body. They said that if you are strong enough, you can fight the demons and get back to your body. When a person succeeds, he/she wakes up and will literally feel your soul being sucked back up into the body, and then wake up feeling tired and relieved.

Lavender Town Syndrome

The Lavender Town Syndrome (also known as “Lavender Town Tone” or “Lavender Town Suicides”) was a peak in suicides and illness of children between the ages of 7-12 shortly after the release of Pokémon Red and Green in Japan, back in February 27, 1996.

Rumors say that these suicides and illness only occurred after the children playing the game reached Lavender Town, whose theme music had extremely high frequencies, that studies showed that only children and young teens can hear, since their ears are not fully developed.

Due to the Lavender Tone, at least two-hundred children supposedly committed suicide, and many more developed illnesses and afflictions. The children who committed suicide usually did so by hanging or jumping from heights. Those who did not acted irrationally complained of severe headaches after listening to Lavender Town’s theme.

Although Lavender Town now sounds differently depending on the game, this mass hysteria was caused by the first Pokémon game released. After the Lavender Tone incident, the programmers had fixed Lavender Town’s theme music to be at a lower frequency, and since children were no longer affected by it.

One video appeared in 2010 using ”special software” to analyze the audio of Lavender Town’s music. When played, the software created images of the Unown near the end of the audio. This raised a controversy, since the Unown didn’t appear until the Generation 2 games: Silver, Gold, and Crystal. The Unown translate to “LEAVE NOW”.&nbsp There is also the said Beta Version of Lavender Town.

It is said that the Beta Version of Pocket Monsters was released to some kids to test the games.
